What do I need to do to renew my plan?

You’ll receive a letter in the fall prior to open enrollment that includes the most up-to-date information we have on your eligibility for health coverage. You should read it carefully and call DC Health Link at (855) 532-5465 if any information needs to be updated. This letter will also tell you which plan we will renew you in automatically if you don’t select a new plan by December 15. For most people enrolled in private health plans, this will be the same plan that you have right now.

Some plans offered in this coverage year may not be available next year. If you’re enrolled in one of those plans, DC Health Link will provide you with additional information on the steps you need to take to choose a new plan or be renewed into another plan for next year. Open enrollment begins November 1. If you’d like to pick a different plan for next year than the one listed in your notice, login to your account on or after November 1, and choose a new plan. If you’re happy with the plan listed in your notice, you don’t need to do anything at DC Health Link to be automatically re-enrolled in the plan you have now for coverage beginning January 1, but you do need to call your insurance company directly to update your payment information.
