In my DC Health Link application, can I exclude from my income deductions I take on my taxes for things like home mortgage interest that I do not see listed on the application?
When calculating your income to determine your eligibility for financial assistance in paying for your health care, you can subtract adjustments to income that you take on your taxes. All of the applicable adjustments are listed in the application Deductions for things like home mortgage interest, charitable contributions, and medical expenses are not included in this calculation.
Tax credits, like the child tax credit or dependent care tax credit, are also not included in the calculation of income.
