The cost of health insurance shouldn’t be a barrier to getting covered. DC Health Link can tell you if you qualify for lower monthly premiums or free coverage (called Medicaid). The lower premium amount is based on your income and the ages of you and your family members.

You may be eligible for lower monthly premiums if your annual household income is within the ranges below:

* The upper limit amount will change based on the ages of the individuals enrolled and whether they have access to other coverage such as Medicaid, Medicare, or employer-sponsored coverage.
You may be eligible for Healthy DC Plan with no monthly premiums and no out-of-pocket costs for covered care if your annual household income is within the ranges below:

**Special eligibility for lawfully present residents with an annual income between 100% and 138% of the Federal Poverty Level: If a lawfully present resident is not eligible for Medicaid due to immigration status, the resident is eligible for Healthy DC Plan.
You may be eligible for free coverage called Medicaid if your household’s monthly income is below the following amounts:
- You’re a single adult, without dependent children, with monthly household income up to $1,835.40 ($22,024.80 annually)
- You’re aged 19 or 20 with monthly household income up to $2,939.30 ($35,271.60 annually)
- You’re a parent or caretaker relative with a dependent child under the age of 19 (household of 2) with monthly household income up to $2,488.60 ($29,863.20 annually)
- You’re a parent or caretaker relative with two dependent children under the age of 19 (household of 3) with monthly household income up to $3,141.80 ($ 37,701.60 annually)
- You’re pregnant expecting twins* with one dependent child under the age of 19 (household of 4) with monthly household income up to $ 8,910.00 ($106,920 annually)
