Research indicates that nearly 1 in 4 young adults do not have health insurance. On National Youth Enrollment Day, DC Health Link will partner with local and national groups to host events aimed at educating young adults about the benefits of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and enrolling in quality affordable health insurance through DC Health Link. On National Youth Enrollment Day (NYED), which is a day of action, outreach efforts will be made to educate young adults on the importance of having and utilizing health insurance. DC Health Link is teaming up with local and national partners including White House Office of Public Engagement, Capital City AHEC, MusiCares, Planned Parenthood, La Clinica Del Pueblo, Enroll America and Young Invincibles to address specific health insurance needs of young people in DC. “Listen Up DC #GetCovered” activities will include enrollment events at more than 10 sites throughout the city, a citywide NYED #EnrollDC social media campaign, and the NYED After Party to engage young adults to close out DC’s NYED day.
